Openreach will be performing planned engineering works from 11pm 2/Sep/2020 until 7am on 3/Sep/2020 in Manchester. The openreach supplied reason for maintenance is “node/joint remake for faults/quality purposes”
This maintenance will cause the loss of one of our metro ethernet circuits during the maintenance window. No impact is expected due to our resilient ring network, however the ring will be “at risk” during the maintenance window.
As we also have metro ethernet circuits diversely provided by VirginMedia, Vodafone, and some dark fibre no issues are anticipated.
Openreach began this maintenance at approx 11:05pm, and we saw the circuit go offline at this time.
As expected, our metro ring continued to operate normally via its diverse paths.
We will continue to monitor the maintenance to ensure the circuit recovers normally.
This circuit came back online at 12:06am and has been stable for the last 20 minutes.
The maintenance window extends until 7am, so there may be further outages although unlikely.
