The online UPS’s used in our BOL1 datacentre will be taken out of circuit tomorrow for a short maintenance period.
The associated Lead Acid batteries are being replaced to ensure extended contingency cover can be provided during any switchover phases between Utility Mains and Local Generation, eg: in the event of any Utility failure. This planned maintenance should not affect any hosted services, but will mean that some services will be subject to minimal ‘elevated risk’ for the duration of the maintenance.
Further notices will be posted during the maintenance window.

This planned maintenance window has been rescheduled for Friday morning, due to circumstances with 3rd party resource allocation.
The online UPS maintenance has been completed.
The UPS was taken out of circuit, and local generation was brought online to provide immediate continuation of service in the unlikely event of mains utility failure. The complement of batteries were replaced and the UPS was tested and commissioned without issue. The UPS was brought back into circuit and local generation was placed back on standby.
This planned maintenance is now complete.
As expected, there were no outages or complications.
The replacement UPS batteries are now fully charged, and maximum autonomy has returned.
